Bill Sever Bill Sever is an educator and musician who is originally from Kailua, Oahu and Hilo, Hawaii. Bill has a B.S. in Music Education from Eastern Nazarene College, a M.Ed. from Heritage College, and a M.A. in Brass Pedagogy from Ohio State University. Since 2001, Bill has been the band director at Waiakea High School in Hilo. Before that he was the director of the Hawaii District Youth Orchestra in Hilo, and the band director at Pahoa High School. He has been a string teacher and orchestra director in Fairfax County Public Schools, Virginia. Bill performs with several organizations, including the
Kamuela Philharmonic Orchestra, the University of Hawaii at Hilo (UHH) Orchestra, the Kona Community Orchestra, the Hawaii County Band, and the Knox County Symphony in Ohio. He has also performed in numerous theater productions including Camelot,
Oklahoma, Wizard of Oz,
Brigadoon, and My Fair Lady.
In addition to music, Bill enjoys raising orchids and rock collecting.
